Campbellford Community
Campbellford is a world of vitality and
variety, that is only about an hour and a half from
Toronto by car but ... it can also be reached by boat,
on the Trent-Severn Waterway ... or by foot, bike,
skidoo, four wheeler or horseback, on the Trans Canada
Trail.
Let yourself go as our gracious hosts treat you to their unique style of hospitality at one of our superb resorts or B&B's. Immerse yourself in our lively arts scene, cycle on our meandering roads, make antiquing history, hike our scenic trails ... or sit back and enjoy the show at one of our many festivals or events. Westben Arts Festival Theatre providesworld class music in wide opens spaces ... a very unique venue you won't want to miss. We have our own movie theatre, Aron Cinema offering first run movies as well as live performances on Thursday nights . Whether you visit for the day or spend a few nights with us, you will be amazed at the activities awaiting you.
Artists and artisans have congregated in the Campbellford area. We have Spirit of the Hills, Northumberland Arts and Crafts and Hawkwind Wood Carvers just to name a few. The creative juices are always flowing around here ... there are always shows or tours by one groups or another to display their talent.
We are home to one of the last cheddar cheese producing factories in Ontario, Empire Cheese, which is proudly run and owned by local farmers. Hoard's Station Sale Barn is one of the last Livestock Sale Barns in the area. Every Tuesday is "Sale Barn Day" ... the experience is one you'll remember. The second weekend in August is Campbellford Fair Weekend which gives us a showcase to bring our rural community to you in a fun, family-oriented way.
Our waterfront home has it's own Hospital with a newly constructed Medical Center located right beside it. Our recently renovated Public Library is located in the middle of our downtown and is open to all. If history is up your alley, The Heritage Societyhas all the information on Campbellford's past and they have written a book called "Gleanings" which highlights events from days gone by. The Indian Bike Museumand The Military Museumare other "must sees". Both are very unique places for young ones .... and the young at heart too.
Along with many unique downtown shops and eateries, Campbellford has alot to offer those who love to browse. Our Farmer's Market is open every Saturday morning with fresh local produce and baking. During July and August the market is also open Wednesday afternoons. The Meyersburg Flea Market and Williams Auctions are perfect places to go when antiquing or looking for just the right piece.
